Overview

At Switch, we believe words matter. They spark curiosity, inspire creativity and bring people together. Storytelling isn’t just something we do for our clients, it’s something we’re proud to champion in our community too.

That’s why we partnered with Jersey Festival of Words, sponsoring a children’s event designed to inspire young people to connect with language, creativity and storytelling in a way that felt fun, accessible and inclusive.

Our approach

As part of the Festival’s event programme, we sponsored two free children’s events led by teacher, poet and author Christian Foley. Known for his unique blend of rhythm, rap and rhyme, Christian uses improvised performance to make words come alive and to champion children’s literacy in a way that really captivates young audiences.

Alongside supporting the delivery of the events, we brought together communications, PR and social media support to help promote the sessions, ensuring families and schools across the Island were aware and encouraged to take part. On the day more than 300 local children took part in an energetic and inspiring event where creativity, confidence and imagination flourished.

The impact

The events gave hundreds of children the opportunity to experience storytelling in a fresh, dynamic and engaging way. By removing barriers to access and making the sessions free to attend, the partnership helped reinforce the message that words, creativity and imagination should be accessible to everyone.

Storytelling has the power to educate, connect and inspire and it was amazing to work with the Switch team on promotion for the event to support literacy in our community. To have such an energetic team take this on was fantastic and elevated it to a totally different level!

Championing words and creativity goes beyond our client work. Supporting the Festival of Words was about using our skills, platforms and energy to help inspire the next generation of storytellers and show the power of language, creativity and community.
