Overview

We support the Jersey Care Commission to deliver strategic communications that build understanding, trust and awareness of the vital role modern, independent regulation plays in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care  for Islanders.

The opportunity

Established in 2019, the Jersey Care Commission plays a vital role in regulating health and social care services across the Island. As a relatively new regulatory body, it needed to raise awareness and understanding of its purpose and continually evolving remit.

Crucially, it also needed to build trust with diverse audiences, from care providers and government stakeholders to care users and their families, often during sensitive and challenging moments in their lives.

Our approach

We work with the Jersey Care Commission as a long-term strategic communications partner, supporting both day-to-day awareness and engagement as well as focussed campaigns as its remit continues to expand . We bring together communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, media relations, social media and content creation to deliver joined-up communications that remain clear, compassionate and consistent across every audience.

A key focus of our work has been helping to articulate, in an open and human way, why modern care regulation matters. Positioning the Commission not as an enforcement body, but as a collaborative independent partner supporting providers to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care through continuous improvement.

As the Commission’s remit expands into new areas, including children and young people’s services and ambulance, hospital and government health services, we’ve delivered accessible and compassionate communications that balance legal and regulatory clarity with public understanding and empathy.

Using a range of communications channels and formats, we’ve developed an evolving programme of human-led storytelling that brings the Commission’s work to life. These stories place people, purpose and compassion at the heart of regulation, while maintaining the professionalism, discretion and accuracy required in a highly scrutinised environment.

The impact

The Jersey Care Commission now has a clear, collaborative and consistent communications presence that supports its evolving role and builds trust across providers, government stakeholders and the wider community.

Through sustained strategic communications and human-centred storytelling, we've helped strengthen understanding of the Commission's role and purpose, reinforcing its collaborative approach to regulation while supporting its mission to continually improve standards of health and social care across the Island.
